Does Podia have order bumps?

Yes, and unusually it has the harder half too. Podia ships an order bump at checkout and an upsell that, in its own words, appears automatically after checkout. Both sit on the Shaker plan at $99 a month, which is also the tier where Podia's cut of your sales drops to zero. There is no free plan on Podia at all, so $49 a month is the lowest door into the product. Checked 13 September 2026.

That $99 number is not a coincidence. It is the price at which this category has quietly settled, and once you have seen it three times you cannot unsee it. Podia, Stan Store and Checkout Page all put the post-purchase upsell at exactly $99 a month, independently of each other.

What does a Podia order bump do?

It puts an optional add-on on the checkout page, offered before the buyer pays, charged in the same transaction as the thing they already chose.

That is the strict definition worth holding on to, because plenty of platforms use the word loosely. A "related products" strip on a product page is a cross-sell and a browsing moment. A bump appears after the buyer has decided and while their card is already on the screen. Ticking it edits the cart rather than starting a fresh payment, which is why it is one charge and not two.

Podia's checkout runs on Stripe or PayPal at 2.9% + 30c, and the plan cut comes on top of that on the cheapest tier. On Shaker the plan cut is zero and only the processor's fee applies.

Does Podia have post-purchase upsells?

It does, and this is the part that separates Podia from most of the market. Podia's own help article on offering upsells says the offers appear automatically after checkout, which is a genuine post-purchase offer rather than a follow-up email with a discount code in it.

Most platforms stop at the bump. Gumroad has a checkout add-on and then handles post-sale contact as a workflow email. Payhip's "upgrade discount" is a brand new transaction offered again by email afterwards. Both are useful and neither is a one-click upsell, and the Gumroad version is worth reading alongside this if you are choosing between them.

Across the 42 platforms I checked, nine ship both halves. Podia is one of the nine. Six of the nine charge a monthly fee to get there.

What do Podia's plans cost?

Three tiers, and the transaction cut falls as the monthly price rises. These are the monthly rates from Podia's pricing page and its own plan comparison. Our own rate is in the table so you can see the shape of the trade, not because it is the same product.

Plan Monthly Annual, per month Platform cut
Stakk, for comparison$0$010% + $0.50, processing included
Mover$49$425%
Shaker$99$840%
Earthquaker$179$1500%

Card processing sits outside all of it. Podia uses Stripe and PayPal at 2.9% + 30c, so a 0% plan means 0% to Podia, not 0% in total. That pattern holds across most of this category and it is the single most common misreading of a pricing page.

$1,188
What twelve months of Shaker costs at the monthly rate, before a single sale. Paid annually the same plan works out at $84 a month, so $1,008 for the year.

Our own arithmetic on Podia's published rates. This is the number to weigh the bump and the upsell against, not the $99.

Why do so many platforms charge $99 for an upsell?

Because the post-purchase upsell is the most reliably paywalled feature in the whole category, and $99 is where three separate companies landed on its price.

Podia puts it on Shaker at $99. Stan Store puts bumps, upsells and funnels on Creator Pro at $99. Checkout Page gives you order bumps free and charges $99 for the one-click upsell. Kajabi does not gate the feature at all but its cheapest plan is $179, which gets to the same place by another road.

The logic is easy to follow from the other side of the table. A creator who wants a post-purchase upsell is a creator with a funnel, and a creator with a funnel is worth more than one selling a single file. The feature is a good proxy for willingness to pay, so it gets used as one.

It is worth saying that the bump on its own is much cheaper to come by. Gumroad and Payhip both ship a checkout add-on on a free plan. If the bump is all you need, you do not need $99 a month from anybody.

Who holds your money on Podia?

You do. Podia connects your own Stripe or PayPal account, so the charge is created on a payment account that belongs to you rather than landing in a Podia balance to be released later.

Podia does not use the phrase merchant of record anywhere on its own site, and its terms put the responsibility for paying, withholding, filing and reporting taxes on the seller. So the arrangement is the one where you are the seller and Podia is the software. That is the same column Stakk sits in, and the difference between owning the Stripe account and being paid through one is worth understanding before you build on top of either.

The practical upside is that there is no platform payout schedule and no minimum to clear. The practical downside is that a chargeback lands in your own dashboard and the evidence is yours to gather.

When is Stakk the wrong choice next to Podia?

When you need the things Podia is actually built for. Podia hosts courses, runs communities, sends email to your list and bills subscriptions. Stakk does none of those: no course player, no community, no email marketing, no recurring billing, US dollars only, and nothing priced above $999. If you are selling a course or a membership, Podia is the right tool and we are not.

On price, two platforms beat both of us and it would be dishonest to bury it. Systeme.io ships bumps and one-click upsells on a permanently free plan with no transaction fee on any tier. Whop has no monthly cost at all and takes 2.7% + $0.30. Either one gives you both surfaces for less than Stakk does.

What neither of them has is our particular arrangement of it. On Stakk the bump rides the same charge as the product, so it carries one fee rather than two, and the upsell afterwards is one tap against the card already on file. Both are on every account, with nothing behind a higher tier and no $99 door to walk through first. That layout came out of funnels that ran for agency clients before Stakk existed, which is the honest reason it is shaped the way it is.

Want both without the $99 plan?

Stakk ships the order bump and the post-purchase upsell on every account, with no monthly fee and no tier to upgrade to. It is 10% + $0.50 a sale with card processing included, and the charge is created on your own Stripe account so the money lands in your bank rather than ours. The upsell is a second charge and takes the fee again, which is the part most platforms leave out of that sentence.
