What does Podia cost?
Podia costs $49 a month for Mover, $99 for Shaker or $179 for Earthquaker. Billed yearly, the same plans are $42, $84 or $150 a month. Mover also takes 5% of every sale, while Shaker and Earthquaker take nothing. On every plan, Stripe or PayPal charge their own fee on top, which Podia puts at 2.9% + $0.30. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial with no card needed. Checked 26 October 2026.
Every number here comes from Podia's own pricing page and help center, read on 26 October 2026. If you have seen lower Podia prices elsewhere, they are most likely the yearly rates, because that is the view the pricing page opens on.
How much is Podia a month?
Podia Mover is $49 a month, Shaker is $99 and Earthquaker is $179, when you pay month to month. Podia's pricing page opens on yearly billing, where the same plans show as $42, $84 and $150 a month, charged as one payment of $504, $1,008 or $1,800 a year.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly | Podia's fee per sale | Email subscribers included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mover | $49 a month | $42 a month ($504 a year) | 5% | 100 |
| Shaker | $99 a month | $84 a month ($1,008 a year) | 0% | 500 |
| Earthquaker | $179 a month | $150 a month ($1,800 a year) | 0% | 1,000 |
Paying yearly saves $84 on Mover, $180 on Shaker and $348 on Earthquaker, against 12 monthly payments. That is our own sum on Podia's prices.
Email is where the plan price can grow. Each plan includes Podia Email up to its subscriber number, and a bigger list costs more each month. On Mover, 500 subscribers adds $10 a month and 1,000 subscribers adds $18. So Mover with a list of 1,000 people is $67 a month before you sell anything. Podia's FAQ says it emails you as you get close to the limit and never moves you up a plan by itself.
Does Podia take a cut of your sales?
On Mover, yes. Podia's pricing FAQ says "On the Mover plan, we charge a 5% transaction fee." Shaker and Earthquaker have no Podia fee on sales. The 5% applies whether you pay for Mover monthly or yearly, and Podia takes it out of each sale before the money reaches you. Your buyers do not see it on their invoices.
Card processing is separate, on every plan. Stripe or PayPal charge what Podia lists as 2.9% + $0.30, which it says may vary based on your location. So 0% on Shaker means 0% to Podia, not 0% in total.
Here is what one $27 sale on a US card costs in fees on each plan:
- Mover: 5% is $1.35, plus about $1.08 of processing, so $2.43.
- Shaker or Earthquaker: about $1.08 of processing, and nothing to Podia.
The 5% also tells you when to move up. Shaker costs $50 a month more than Mover, and 5% of $1,000 is $50. So once your sales pass $1,000 a month, Shaker costs less than Mover. On yearly billing the gap is $42, so the line sits at $840 a month in sales.
Mover's 5% is the same rate Payhip's free plan takes, and Payhip charges no monthly fee for it.
What do you get on each Podia plan?
Every plan gets the same core: a community, online courses, digital downloads, coaching and events, plus your website and checkout. The plans differ in limits, and in four tools that start at Shaker.
| Mover | Shaker | Earthquaker | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Products | 50 | 150 | Unlimited |
| Videos | 500 | 1,000 | Unlimited |
| Community spaces | 25 | 100 | Unlimited |
| Assistants | None | 1 | Unlimited |
| Upsells, affiliate marketing, PayPal, Zapier | No | Yes | Yes |
Two of those gated tools matter more than they look. PayPal as a payment option is listed from Shaker up, not on Mover. And upsells are not on Mover at all, which the next section covers.
Podia also offers to move your products over from another platform. Its pricing FAQ says it will migrate up to 50 products on Mover and up to 150 on Shaker and Earthquaker.
Which Podia plan has upsells and order bumps?
Upsells are on Shaker and Earthquaker, not on Mover. Podia's help article on upsells says buyers see your offers "after a customer buys your main product", and that the offers "appear automatically after checkout". You can add as many as you like, to products, events and plans, each with its own heading, description and discount. The buyer adds the ones they want or skips them.
A few limits are worth knowing. Free products cannot be upsells. A coupon used on the first purchase does not carry over to the upsell, and buyers cannot apply one there. Someone who already owns the upsell product does not see it again. The article does not say whether the buyer types their card in again, or whether the upsell is charged as its own payment.
Order bumps are the part I could not confirm. Podia's pricing page lists upsells and does not mention an order bump. The upsell article, last updated on 24 September 2026, does not mention one either, and I found no help article about them on 26 October 2026. Our earlier look at Podia's order bumps was checked on 13 September, before that update. If a checkbox offer on the checkout page matters to you, ask Podia during the trial, before you pick a plan.
Is Podia free?
No. Podia had a free plan and removed it on 14 October 2024, putting a free trial in its place. Its own announcement gave the reason: less than 0.5% of the sales volume on Podia came from free accounts, and paying, in its words, puts some skin in the game.
Today the trial is 14 days. It covers every feature, needs no card and does not ask you to pick a plan. When it ends, you need Mover, Shaker or Earthquaker to keep going, and that includes using Podia Email.
Three more things from Podia's help center that affect the real cost:
- Refunds on a plan: only if you ask within 72 hours of your most recent payment, and no partial refunds on yearly plans.
- Canceling: your site goes offline and your products are no longer accessible. If you do not resubscribe, your data is deleted after 180 days.
- Nonprofits: Podia says it does not offer a discount.
The canceling rule is the one to plan around. If you stop paying between launches, the people who bought from you lose access too.
When is Podia worth $49 a month?
When you will use what Podia hosts. If you are running courses, a community, coaching or events, and sending email to a list of up to 100 people, Mover puts all of that in one place for $49. That is what the money buys.
On cost alone, Mover is a harder sell. Take a $27 product bought with a US card. On Mover, each sale costs $2.43 in fees, plus the $49. On Stakk, our 10% + $0.50 is $3.20, with card processing included and no monthly fee. The gap is about $0.77 a sale, so Mover only costs less than Stakk from the 64th sale in a month, or the 55th on yearly billing.
Our own arithmetic on published rates, with Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 on a US card. Mover is $2.43 a sale plus $49, and Stakk is $3.20 a sale.
But by then, Shaker has already passed both. Shaker costs less than Stakk from the 47th sale of a $27 product, and less than Mover from the 38th. So for a $27 product, Mover is never the cheapest of the three. Below 47 sales a month a per-sale fee costs less, and above that Shaker does.
| Platform and plan | Monthly fee | Platform's cut | Fees on one $27 US card sale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whop | $0 | 2.7% + $0.30, processing included | $1.03 |
| Systeme.io Free | $0 | 0%, plus your processor | $1.08 |
| Stakk | $0 | 10% + $0.50, processing included | $3.20 |
| Podia Mover | $49 | 5%, plus processing | $2.43 |
| Podia Shaker | $99 | 0%, plus processing | $1.08 |
| Podia Earthquaker | $179 | 0%, plus processing | $1.08 |
When would I send you somewhere else?
If you sell courses, a community, coaching or memberships, Podia is the better tool and Stakk is the wrong choice. Stakk has no course hosting, no communities, no email marketing, no subscriptions or recurring billing, no call booking, US dollars only and nothing priced above $999. It does not store your files either: you paste a link to where the file lives, and Stakk emails it to the buyer after payment. If cost is the whole decision, two platforms beat us. Systeme.io's free plan takes 0% in transaction fees and includes one order bump and one upsell, up to 2,000 contacts and $10,000 in lifetime sales. Whop charges 2.7% + $0.30 on a domestic card, with no monthly costs. Both cost less per sale than our 10% + $0.50, and Gumroad, with no monthly fee but 10% + $0.50 plus processing, costs more.
What Stakk does differently is put both selling tools on every account, with nothing behind a tier. The order bump rides the same charge as the product, so it carries one fee rather than two. The post-purchase upsell is one tap against the card the buyer just used, and it is a second charge that carries its own fee. The money lands in your own Stripe account, not a balance we hold. The layout came out of funnels that ran for agency clients before Stakk existed. If you are weighing other no-monthly-fee stores too, our guide to Payhip alternatives covers the same ground from Payhip's side. And if you are torn between the two course tools, our Teachable vs Podia comparison lines them up.
Want an upsell without paying for Shaker?
Podia puts its upsells on Shaker, at $99 a month or $84 billed yearly. If you sell downloads rather than courses, you can have an order bump and a post-purchase upsell on Stakk with no monthly fee and no plan to upgrade to. It is 10% + $0.50 a sale with card processing included, and nothing in a month with no sales. The upsell is its own charge and takes the fee again. You can have a product with both live in about ten minutes.
