What does SendOwl cost?

Nathan Field Nathan Field·Founder, Stakk · 17 October 2026 · 7 min read

SendOwl costs $39, $87 or $159 a month on its three standard plans, Launch, Grow and Scale, or $32.50, $72.50 and $132.50 a month if you pay for a year up front. It takes no cut of your sales. On top of the plan you pay your Stripe or PayPal fee on each sale, and $1 per GB in any month your buyers download more than your plan's bandwidth allowance. Every plan has every feature, so the plans differ in sales limits, bandwidth and support, not in what you can do. Checked 12 October 2026.

The plan you end up on is not fully your choice, because SendOwl moves you up as your sales grow. That rule, the bandwidth charge, and the point where a flat monthly fee starts costing less than a per-sale fee are all worked out below.

How much does each SendOwl plan cost?

Launch is $39 a month, Grow is $87 and Scale is $159, according to SendOwl's pricing page. Pay yearly and the same plans work out to $32.50, $72.50 and $132.50 a month. The page says "All features included on every plan", so the monthly fee buys room to sell, not extra tools.

Plan Monthly Billed yearly Sales a year Orders a year Bandwidth a month
Launch$39$32.50 a monthUp to $10,0005,00010 GB
Grow$87$72.50 a monthUp to $36,00025,00020 GB
Scale$159$132.50 a monthUp to $100,00050,00050 GB

Above Scale, Business plans start at $299 a month for up to $200,000 in annual sales. Every plan card lists unlimited products and unlimited storage, and the FAQ on the same page explains that unlimited storage means up to 1TB before an account moves to a custom plan.

One thing does not add up on that page. The plan cards list 10 GB, 20 GB and 50 GB of bandwidth, but the FAQ further down gives 20 GB, 30 GB and 50 GB. SendOwl's help center says your account's Billing page shows the allowance that applies to you, so check it there.

Does SendOwl take a cut of your sales?

No. SendOwl's own article on fees says it "takes no revenue cut or per-sale commission." Besides the plan, you pay two things: your payment gateway's fee on each sale, and bandwidth in any month you go over your allowance.

The gateway fee is charged by Stripe or PayPal, not by SendOwl. For a US seller on Stripe, that is 2.9% + $0.30 a sale, the standard rate the same article quotes. Selling from outside the US costs more: Stripe sets its base rate country by country, and the article says a currency conversion fee of around 2% goes on top. PayPal publishes its own rates.

Bandwidth is $1 per GB over your plan's monthly allowance on the standard plans, billed with your monthly charge, and the allowance resets on your billing date. Small files rarely get near it: a 5 MB PDF can be downloaded about 2,000 times inside Launch's 10 GB. Video is where it bites. A 1 GB video file uses all 10 GB in ten downloads, and every gigabyte after that is $1. SendOwl says it tells you before it charges an overage.

The money does not sit with SendOwl either. Buyers pay into your own Stripe or PayPal account, which puts SendOwl in the same column as Stakk in our comparison of who holds your money and who pays you directly.

What happens when you sell more than your SendOwl plan allows?

SendOwl moves you up a plan. The pricing page says it counts your orders and sales over a trailing 12 months, and if you pass a plan's limit, "you will be notified immediately and upgraded" to the next tier.

In practice the plan follows your sales. Launch covers up to $10,000 in sales over any 12 months. Above that threshold you move to Grow at $87, above $36,000 to Scale at $159, and above $100,000 into the Business plans from $299.

The order caps work the same way, and they matter for cheap products. 5,000 orders at $2 each come to $10,000, so anything priced under $2 hits Launch's order cap before its sales cap.

Because the window is a trailing 12 months, one big launch stays in the count for a year. If your volume drops later, the FAQ says SendOwl will email you with the option to downgrade. That is an offer you have to take, not something that happens on its own, so look out for that email.

Is SendOwl cheaper if you pay yearly?

Yes, by two months. SendOwl's help article on changing plans describes the yearly price as 12 months for the price of 10. Launch comes to $390 a year instead of $468, Grow to $870 instead of $1,044, and Scale to $1,590 instead of $1,908.

Read the terms before you switch. The same article says yearly billing is non-refundable. If you close your account, it stays active to the end of the period you paid for, and there is no refund for unused time. Usage charges such as extra bandwidth are still billed monthly on a yearly plan.

There is a free trial, with limits. The pricing FAQ says trial accounts come with some restrictions, such as "limits to the number of free orders you can send," and that support can lift them if you ask. The page does not say how long the trial lasts, and I have not guessed.

Does SendOwl have order bumps and one-click upsells?

It has one upsell feature that can run before or after payment, on every plan. Set before payment, it works like an order bump. Set after payment, it is a post-purchase offer, but SendOwl's help doc does not say whether it is one-click.

SendOwl's upsell help doc describes two kinds of offer: swap the product for a bigger one, or add an extra product to the order. With the offer set to show before payment, the buyer ticks a box at checkout and SendOwl updates the sale, so the add-on joins the same order. That matches what most people mean by an order bump.

After payment, the offer appears once the first payment goes through. It works with card payments only, since PayPal and Apple Pay do not support it, and SendOwl declines the offer on its own about 15 minutes after the page opens. The doc does not say whether the buyer has to type their card details again, so I can't tell you it is one tap.

One more limit: if several upsells apply to the same order, SendOwl shows only one, the highest in the priority list you set.

When does SendOwl cost less than a per-sale fee?

Once you sell steadily. At $20 a sale, Launch at $39 a month plus Stripe costs less than Stakk's 10% + $0.50 from the 25th sale in a month. Below that, the flat fee costs more, and in a month with no sales you still pay it.

25
Sales of a $20 product in one month at which SendOwl Launch, at $39 a month plus Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30, starts costing less than Stakk at 10% + $0.50. Billed yearly, it is the 21st sale.

Our arithmetic on published rates, using Stripe's standard US card rate on both sides and leaving out bandwidth.

Sales of a $20 product in a month 0 5 25 40
SendOwl Launch, monthly, plus Stripe$39.00$43.40$61.00$74.20
SendOwl Launch, billed yearly, plus Stripe$32.50$36.90$54.50$67.70
Stakk, card processing included$0$12.50$62.50$100.00

The working is short. On SendOwl, Stripe takes $0.88 of a $20 sale. On Stakk the whole fee is $2.50, card processing included, so each sale costs $1.62 more. Divide Launch's $39 by $1.62 and you get just over 24. At 40 sales a month you are still under Launch's $10,000 yearly cap, so the plan price holds.

When is SendOwl the right choice and Stakk the wrong one?

If you sell steadily, SendOwl is the cheaper of the two and Stakk is the wrong choice on cost, as the table shows. SendOwl also does a lot Stakk does not: subscriptions, dripped courses, license keys, PDF stamping, hosting your files, PayPal, and selling in other currencies. If you need any of those, use SendOwl instead. Two platforms charge less per sale than Stakk with no monthly fee required. Systeme.io takes 0% on every plan, the free one included, and our breakdown of what Systeme.io costs shows where its free plan runs out. Whop charges 2.7% + $0.30 on a domestic card with no monthly costs.

What Stakk has instead is no bill in a quiet month and a checkout built around two offers. The order bump rides the same charge as the product, so it carries one fee rather than two, and the post-purchase upsell is one tap against the card the buyer just used, charged as its own sale at the same rate. Both are on every account with nothing behind a tier, which fewer platforms offer than you would expect, and the layout came out of funnels that ran for agency clients before Stakk existed.

Want a bump and an upsell with no monthly plan?

Stakk is 10% + $0.50 a sale with card processing included and no monthly fee, so a month with no sales costs nothing. You connect your own Stripe account, the money lands there rather than in a balance we hold, and the order bump and post-purchase upsell are there from the first day. Paste a link to your file, set a price and share the checkout.
