Which Stan Store alternatives have no monthly fee?
Six platforms I checked let you sell digital products with no monthly fee: Whop at 2.7% + $0.30 a sale, Systeme.io at 0% on its free plan, Payhip at 5% on its free plan, Gumroad at 10% + $0.50, and the free plans of Beacons at 9% and Linktree at 12%. Stakk is a seventh, at 10% + $0.50 with card processing included. Stan Store has no free plan and starts at $29 a month. Of those, Systeme.io and Stakk are the two I could confirm today that also give you an order bump and a one-click upsell without a monthly plan. Checked 30 September 2026.
No monthly fee does not mean free. Every one of these takes something per sale instead, and past a certain volume Stan's flat subscription is the cheaper shape. The point of this page is to show you both sides of that line.
Why look for a Stan Store alternative with no monthly fee?
Because Stan charges before you sell anything. Its plan comparison says there is no free plan: Creator is $29 a month or $300 a year, and Creator Pro is $99 a month or $948 a year. Stan takes 0% of each sale, so once you are selling steadily that fixed fee is good value. In a month with no sales it is pure cost.
The second reason is what sits on the $99 plan. Discount codes, order bumps and upsells, funnels, email broadcasts and affiliate management are all Creator Pro features. If those are what you want, you are really comparing alternatives against $99 a month, not $29.
I have broken down what Stan Store actually costs separately, including its payout fee, so this page is only about the alternatives.
Which alternatives take the smallest cut with no monthly fee?
Whop, Systeme.io and Payhip, and all three cost less than Stakk on a $20 sale.
Whop's pricing page says "No setup fees, no monthly costs" and charges 2.7% + $0.30 per successful domestic card payment, which is $0.84 on a $20 sale. International cards add 1.5%, and optional extras such as tax handling stack on top when you turn them on.
Systeme.io has a free plan with 0% transaction fees, up to 2,000 contacts, and no card required. Payments run through your own Stripe or PayPal, so the only cost on a sale is the processor's own fee.
Payhip's free plan takes 5% a sale, with Stripe or PayPal fees on top, and its pricing page says every feature is available on every plan. On a $20 sale paid by a US card that is about $1.88.
Stakk takes $2.50 of the same $20 sale. All three of these beat us on price, and I would rather you heard it here.
What happens when you outgrow a free plan?
This is where free plans differ, and Systeme.io is the one to read carefully. Its restriction article says that a free account over 2,000 contacts gets three daily warning emails, and if nothing changes by the fourth day, "Opt-ins and payments stop working" and "New sales cannot be processed". Nothing is deleted, and the $17 Startup plan raises the limit to 5,000 contacts. But a list that grows fast can switch your checkout off, so it is worth watching the count.
Payhip's free plan has no contact cap on its pricing page, and the fee simply stays at 5% until you choose Plus at $29 for 2% or Pro at $99 for none. Whop has no plan to outgrow at all.
Which link-in-bio alternatives are free to start?
Beacons and Linktree, if what you like about Stan is the page itself. Both give you a profile with a store on it and let you sell on a free plan.
Beacons' free plan takes 9% a sale, and Linktree's takes 12%, both with Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 on top. On a $20 sale that is $2.68 on Beacons and $3.28 on Linktree, so both cost more per sale than Stakk. Each has a 0% plan, but it costs $30 a month on Beacons and $35 a month on Linktree, which puts you back to paying monthly.
Gumroad fits between the two groups. It has no monthly fee and takes 10% + $0.50, with card processing of 2.9% + $0.30 on top, which is $3.38 on a $20 sale. What it gives you for that is tax: Gumroad is the merchant of record and collects and remits sales tax on your sales.
If you are choosing between link-in-bio tools, which link in bio tools have a real checkout compares the whole group.
Which alternatives keep order bumps and upsells free?
Fewer than you would hope, and this is the question that matters most if Stan's $99 plan is the one you were looking at.
Systeme.io's pricing table gives the free plan one order bump and one one-click upsell, rising to ten of each on the $17 Startup plan. Stakk puts both on every account with nothing behind a tier. Gumroad has an upsell at checkout on its free plan, but no documented offer after the payment goes through. Beacons has order bumps, but on Creator Plus at $30 a month. Linktree's pricing page lists neither on any plan.
When is staying on Stan actually cheaper?
When you sell enough that a percentage costs more than $29. Against Stakk, on a $20 product, that happens at 19 sales a month.
Our own arithmetic on published US rates, with one cash out a month. At 18 sales Stakk costs $45.00 and Stan $45.99: $29, plus $15.84 of card processing, plus a $1.15 payout fee. At 19 sales Stakk costs $47.50 and Stan $46.92.
Against Whop, Stan is never cheaper on price alone. Whop's $0.84 on a $20 sale is below Stan's $0.88 in card processing, before Stan's $29 is counted.
The better reason to stay is what the $29 buys. Stan's Creator plan includes a course builder, calendar booking, recurring subscriptions and community features. If you use those, a cheaper checkout is not a like-for-like swap.
When would I send you somewhere else?
If you use Stan for courses, coaching calls, a community or memberships, Stakk is the wrong choice. It has no course hosting, no call booking, no community, no memberships and no subscription billing. Systeme.io's free plan is the closest match there, with one course, one community, a booking calendar and email on the same account.
If you like Stan's page, Stakk is also wrong. It has no link-in-bio page builder, so Beacons or Linktree fit better. And if the lowest possible cost per sale is the whole decision, use Whop or Systeme.io. Both beat us on every sale. Stakk also sells in US dollars only and has no prices above $999.
Want to sell with no monthly fee on Stakk?
Stakk is 10% + $0.50 a sale with card processing included, nothing a month, and one rate for everyone. In a month with no sales it costs nothing, which is the thing a Stan subscription cannot do.
I have named three platforms that take less per sale, so price is not the reason to pick us. The checkout is. The order bump rides the same charge as the product, so it carries one fee rather than two, and the upsell after payment is one tap against the card already on file. Both ship on every account, with nothing held back for a $99 tier. The money lands in your own Stripe account rather than a balance you cash out, and the layout came out of funnels that ran for agency clients before Stakk existed.
