What is Stan Store and how does it work?
Stan Store is a store that lives in your social bio: one mobile page where creators sell digital downloads, courses, coaching calls and a community to people who tap through from Instagram or TikTok. It is built for creators who sell, rather than for a page of links, and its cheapest plan puts the store, the bookings and the courses in one subscription. Stan has no free plan and charges a flat $29 or $99 a month, takes 0% of each sale, and Stripe's processing and a payout fee come on top. Checked 30 September 2026.
From the outside, a Stan page looks like any link-in-bio page, and on a phone that is what it is. The difference is what the plans are built around: selling, rather than links.
What is Stan Store used for?
Selling to an audience that finds you on social media. A creator puts their Stan page behind the link in their bio, and the page holds the things they sell: a guide, a course, a coaching call, a place in a community.
The $29 Creator plan covers a lot of that on its own. It includes the storefront, calendar booking, analytics, an unlimited course builder, recurring subscriptions, lead magnets, community features and automated Instagram replies. So one subscription can run a creator's downloads, courses, calls and community together.
The trade is that Stan charges before you sell anything. There is no free plan, so the store costs $29 a month whether it makes a sale or not. That matters most if selling is an occasional extra rather than the main job of the page.
How does Stan Store work?
You subscribe, set up payments through Stan, add products, and put the store's link in your bio. In order, it runs like this:
- Pick a plan. Creator at $29 a month or Creator Pro at $99. There is no free plan.
- Set up Stripe through Stan. You create a new Custom Stripe account that Stan manages. You cannot connect one you already have.
- Add what you sell. Downloads, courses, booking slots, a community or a lead magnet.
- Share the link. It goes in your Instagram or TikTok bio, and buyers tap through to the store.
- Cash out. Sales show in Stan's Income tab and settle inside Stripe, and then you cash them out.
Stan takes 0% of each sale, so the subscription is the whole of what you pay Stan itself. Stripe's processing comes off each sale, and a payout fee comes off each cash out. Neither of those goes to Stan.
What can you sell on Stan Store?
Digital downloads, courses, coaching calls, a community and recurring subscriptions, all on the $29 Creator plan. The Creator plan also has lead magnets, so a free download can collect an email address.
Creator Pro at $99 a month adds more ways to sell the same things. It brings dynamic pricing and payment plans, discount codes, limited-quantity offers, funnels, affiliate management, email broadcasts and flows, pixel tracking, and order bumps and upsells.
Buyers can pay by card, and Stan's fees article also lists rates for Afterpay and Klarna, which cost more than a card: 6.0% + $0.30 and 5.99% + $0.30 against 2.9% + $0.30 for a standard US card purchase.
Is there a free version of Stan Store?
No. Stan says directly in its help center that it has no free plan, and the cheapest way to sell on Stan is Creator at $29 a month.
The free thing people do find is an affiliate-only account, and Stan's help center warns it is easy to mistake for a free store. Those accounts let affiliates get their resell links and cash out commission. They do not include Stan Store features, so you cannot list or sell your own products from one.
How much does Stan Store cost?
Two plans and no free one. Stan's plan comparison lists Creator at $29 a month or $300 a year, and Creator Pro at $99 a month or $948 a year. Stan takes 0% of each sale, so on top of the plan you pay card processing on each sale and a payout fee each time you cash out. What Stan Store actually costs covers both fees and works out when the flat price beats a percentage.
How do you get paid on Stan Store?
You cash out from Stan's Income tab. Stan's Stripe setup article has you create a new Custom Stripe account that Stan manages, and you cannot connect an existing one. Each sale lands there and takes 2 to 7 business days to settle inside Stripe, usually around 2, before you can cash it out.
Each cash out costs 0.25% + $0.25, with a $1 minimum, plus 1% if the sale was in a currency that is not your Stripe account's. Stan's transaction fees article lists those next to card processing: 2.9% + $0.30 in the US, and 1.5% more when the buyer is in another country. Rates are lower in the UK, at 1.5% + 20p, and in Australia, at 1.75% + A$0.30.
A refund takes the full amount the buyer paid out of your balance, and Stripe does not return its fee. So Stan holds a balance you draw down, rather than paying out on a schedule you set. Which platforms hold your money explains why that tends to matter more than the fee.
What does Stan Store not do?
On the $29 plan, Stan does not sell a second item with the first. Order bumps, upsells and funnels are on Creator Pro only, at $99 a month, along with discount codes, email broadcasts and flows, and affiliate management.
On Creator Pro the order bump is one per product, and both the product and the bump must be priced at $0.50 or more. Funnels can show an upsell after a purchase and a downsell after a skip, up to five in one funnel, paid by Stripe card only. Whether Stan Store has order bumps goes through the setup.
Two more limits apply on every plan. There is no free plan to start on, and there is no way to sell into a Stripe account you already run.
When would I send you somewhere else?
If you want courses, coaching calls, a community or subscriptions, Stakk is the wrong choice and Stan is the better fit. Stakk has no link-in-bio page builder, no tips, no memberships, no subscriptions, no course hosting and no booking. It takes US dollars only, and nothing on it can be priced above $999. Stan also costs less than Stakk once you sell steadily: on a $20 product, its $29 Creator plan is cheaper from about 19 sales a month, counting card processing and one cash out.
On price alone, two more beat us. Whop takes 2.7% + $0.30 a sale with no monthly costs, and Systeme.io charges 0% on its free plan, which also includes one order bump and one one-click upsell. Which Stan Store alternatives have no monthly fee sets the rest side by side.
Want to sell before you pay a monthly fee?
Stan charges $29 before your first sale. Stakk does not: it costs nothing a month and takes from 10% + $0.50 a sale, card processing included, so a month with no sales costs nothing, and the money lands in your own Stripe account. What you get on every account is the checkout Stan keeps on its $99 plan: the order bump rides the same charge as the product, so it carries one fee rather than two, and the upsell after payment is one tap against the card already on file.
