Stakk vs Shopify
A full store or a link in your bio, and which fits what you sell.
The short answer
Shopify is a full store for physical and digital goods, from $39 a month on Basic, plus 2.9% + $0.30 on a standard US card sale through Shopify Payments. Stakk is a store for digital products that lives in your link in bio, with no monthly fee and a fee from 10% + $0.50 per sale, card processing included.
If you ship products or want a full branded store, pick Shopify. If you sell digital products from your bio and want an order bump and a one-click upsell without adding an app, pick Stakk.

When is Shopify the better pick?
Pick Shopify if any of these is you.
- You sell physical products. Shopify was built for shipping things. Its Basic plan lists shipping labels, shipping discounts, inventory, in-person selling and selling on social and marketplaces. Stakk is for digital products only.
- You want a full store with its own tools. Shopify gives you themes, your own domain and reports on sales, products and customers. Basic also has email campaigns, abandoned checkout recovery, discount codes and gift cards.
- You sell a lot each month. On Shopify Payments you pay the plan and the card rate, with no extra cut. On a $20 product paid by standard US cards, Basic billed monthly costs less than Stakk from the 25th sale in a month.
- You sell subscriptions. Shopify's free Subscriptions app adds them to your store. Stakk sells one-off products only.
Stakk is not a full store. It sells one-off digital products, with no subscriptions, memberships, course player, booking calendar or file hosting. Every price is $1 to $999, and it pays out through Stripe only.
Who should pick Stakk over Shopify?
- You want to start with no monthly fee. Stakk is free to start and charges from 10% + $0.50 per sale, card processing included. To sell from your own Shopify store, the cheapest plan is Basic at $39 a month, or $29 billed yearly, after $1 a month for the first 3 months. Its lower-cost Starter plan is closed to new stores, and its $0 Agentic plan can't publish a store of your own. It sells in AI chats and other Shopify channels.
- You want a bump and an upsell without an app. Stakk has an order bump and a one-click upsell after paying on every account. Shopify's pricing page lists neither, so you would add an app from the Shopify App Store.
- You sell from your bio, not a store. Stakk is one link, stakk.store/yourname, built for phones. On Shopify you set up a store and add the Digital Products app before you can sell a file.
- You want the money in your own Stripe account. The buyer pays into your own Stripe account, and Stakk never holds it. Stripe pays you on its own schedule.
- You keep your files where they are. Paste a share link from Google Drive, Dropbox or Notion. The moment a buyer pays, Stakk emails them that link with a receipt.
