When is Ko-fi the better pick?
Ko-fi takes less per sale than Stakk. Pick Ko-fi if any of these is you.
- Your money comes from tips, memberships or commissions. Ko-fi has tips, monthly memberships with tiers, commissions and posts only supporters can see. Stakk has none of these. It has no subscriptions, no memberships, no course player, no booking calendar and no file hosting. Every price is one-off, $1 to $999.
- You want a lower fee on each sale. On a $20 sale by US card, Ko-fi and Stripe take $1.88 in all, using Ko-fi's rates checked on 22 October 2026. Stakk's fee on the same sale is $2.50. Ko-fi Gold is $12 a month for 0%, and it costs less than the 5% once more than $240 a month goes through your page.
- Most of your money is one-time tips. Ko-fi Free takes 0% on one-time tips, so only the card fee comes off. Monthly tips still carry 5%.
- You want Ko-fi to host your files. You can upload files to your Ko-fi shop, up to 25GB in all on Ko-fi Free. Stakk sends a link to a file you keep somewhere else.
- You sell physical things too. Ko-fi's shop sells physical items as well as downloads. Stakk is for digital products.
- You want to take PayPal. Ko-fi works with your own PayPal or Stripe account. Stakk pays out through Stripe only.
Who should pick Stakk over Ko-fi?
- You want an order bump and an upsell. An order bump is a small extra the buyer ticks before paying. It rides the same charge, so it carries one fee. An upsell is shown after the buyer pays, and one click adds it. It is its own charge with its own fee. Stakk has both on every account. We found neither on Ko-fi, on any setup, Gold included.
- Products are the main thing you sell. Stakk is a store for digital products, with one link for your bio. Buyers need no account. They pay by card and get the download by email.
- You keep your files where they are. Paste a share link from Google Drive, Dropbox or Notion. The moment a buyer pays, Stakk emails them that link with a receipt.
Switching does not change who holds your money. Like Ko-fi, Stakk never holds it. The buyer pays into your own Stripe account.
