Stakk vs Payhip

What each one takes from a sale, and when Payhip fits you better.

The short answer

Payhip costs less per sale. Its free plan takes 5% and adds Stripe or PayPal fees on top, so a $20 card sale through Stripe costs $1.88. Stakk charges from 10% + $0.50 per sale, card processing included, which is $2.50 on that sale.

Both pay into your own account, so neither one holds your money. What Stakk adds is a one-click upsell after the buyer pays, which Payhip does not have.

How do Stakk and Payhip compare side by side?

When is Payhip the better pick?

Pick Payhip if any of these is you.

  • You want to pay less per sale. Payhip's free plan takes 5%, plus Stripe's fee. That is $1.88 on a $20 card sale, and Stakk takes $2.50 on the same sale. Payhip Plus at $29 a month and Pro at $99 a month cut Payhip's share to 2% and 0%.
  • You want someone else to handle sales tax. Payhip collects and pays VAT and sales tax in the EU, the UK, the US and Canada outside Quebec. On Stakk you are the seller.
  • You sell more than one-off digital products. Payhip sells courses, memberships, coaching and physical products, and every feature is on its free plan. Stakk does none of these. It has no subscriptions, no course player, no booking calendar and no file hosting, and every price is one-off, $1 to $999.
  • You want to take PayPal. Payhip works with PayPal, Stripe and other payment processors, 13 in all. Stakk pays out through Stripe only.

Who should pick Stakk over Payhip?

  • You want an upsell after the buyer pays. Stakk has an order bump before paying and a one-click upsell after, on every account. Payhip's offer after checkout asks the buyer to make another transaction.
  • Your buyers shop on their phones. Stakk is built for phones, and the order bump sits on the checkout page. Payhip's help center says a buyer who taps Buy Now on a phone sees no cross-sell.
  • You want one fee with card processing in it. From 10% + $0.50 per sale, card processing included, and no monthly fee. It costs more than Payhip's free plan, but there is no plan to pick and no processor fee to add.
  • You keep your files where they are. Paste a share link from Google Drive, Dropbox or Notion. The moment a buyer pays, Stakk emails them that link with a receipt.

Questions people ask

Is Stakk cheaper than Payhip?

No. On a $20 card sale, Payhip's free plan costs $1.88 once Stripe's fee is added, and Stakk's fee is $2.50. Payhip's paid plans cut its share to 2% or 0% for a monthly fee. Payhip's rates were checked on 22 October 2026.

Does Payhip have one-click upsells?

No. Payhip has a cross-sell in the cart before payment, which works like an order bump. Its upgrade discount after checkout asks the buyer to make another transaction, so it is not a one-click upsell.

Do Payhip and Stakk pay you directly?

Yes, both do. On Payhip the buyer pays into your own Stripe or PayPal account. On Stakk the buyer pays into your own Stripe account, and Stakk never holds the money.
