When is Teachers Pay Teachers the better pick?
Pick Teachers Pay Teachers if any of these is you.
- You need buyers to find you. TPT is a marketplace made for teaching resources, and teachers already shop there. If you have no audience yet, that is worth a lot, and no fee table shows it.
- You want TPT to handle the selling. TPT processes every order, offers customer support, and collects and pays sales tax in many US states, Canada and Australia. On Stakk you are the seller.
- You want TPT to handle refunds. TPT's team issues refunds to buyers for you. On Stakk you handle your own refunds.
- You want TPT to host your files. You upload your resources to TPT, or add Google Docs, Slides and Drive folders. Stakk sends a link to a file you keep elsewhere.
Stakk is also the wrong pick if you need what it does not do. It has no subscriptions, no memberships, no course player, no booking calendar and no file hosting. Every price is one-off, $1 to $999, and it pays out through Stripe only.
One rule matters before you choose. If you are a TPT Exclusive Seller, your digital teaching resources must be sold on TPT alone, so you cannot sell them on Stakk too. A Basic Seller can sell on both.
Who should pick Stakk over Teachers Pay Teachers?
- You want to keep more of each sale. On a $10 resource, a Basic Seller on TPT gets $5.20 and an Exclusive Seller gets $8.00 until 1 January 2027, using TPT's rates checked on 22 October 2026. Stakk's fee on the same sale is $1.50, so you keep $8.50.
- You want your money sooner. TPT pays once a month, usually around the 10th of the next month. On Stakk the buyer pays into your own Stripe account, Stakk never holds it, and Stripe pays you on its own schedule.
- You sell to people who already follow you. On TPT your resource sits among everyone else's. On Stakk your store is one link, stakk.store/yourname, made for your bio and built for phones.
- You want a bump and an upsell. Stakk has an order bump before paying and a one-click upsell after paying, on every account. We found neither in TPT's help center.
